Ice Skating Rinks
Are you looking for a place to take the family for a hot time at a cool place? Sioux Falls has six beautiful ice rinks around the city. Each ice rink has a warming house, concessions, and skate rentals available. Locations are:

Hours of Operation Rinks are tentatively scheduled to open December 15 at 4 p.m. Hours may change, subject to weather.
Schedule for public school holiday vacation:
Parents of small children should be especially aware of weather conditions and warming house hours before leaving their children at the outdoor rinks when the weather conditions are extreme. Children 6 years of age and younger must be accompanied by someone 16 years of age or older.
Hockey Rink (*) The Sherman Park hockey rink was so much fun last year, it's back again! It will be available for open use when not being used by scheduled groups such as Sioux Falls Youth Hockey, which will use the rink Mondays through Thursdays, January 6 through February 13, from 6 to 7 p.m. (weather permitting). For open schedule, call Parks and Recreation at 367-8222 or check with the Sherman rink staff.
* Sherman skate rink/hockey rink may not open for this winter season due to a City storm sewer project. Check back later for the latest information.
Skate Rentals Skates may be rented at all rinks: Campus, McKennan, Memorial, Frank Olson, Sherman, and Tuthill. Fees:

Youth Rental (ages 1-15) - $1.00

Senior Rental (ages 55 and up) - $2.00

Friday Night Special (all sizes) - $1.00
Group rates : If you have ten or more in your party, all skates will be $1.00/pair. Party sizes are limited. Please call Parks and Recreation for details.
Nordic Ski Trails
Did you know that Sioux Falls has three Nordic ski trails within the city limits? All trails offer a variety of skill levels, scenic wooded areas, and a surefire way to get some exercise. The Great Beartrail location also offers lessons to the beginning skier. So grab a friend, dust off those skis, and head for the trails.
